OCPP Configuration for VariableGrid charging stations

Step 1 – Creating the Charging Station in Roulez Électrique

  1. In Roulez Électrique, go to "My Stations" and click on "Link a Station", then choose "Other OCPP Station".

  2. In "Station Brand", choose "Other".

  3. Give a name to your station.

  4. In "Serial Number", enter the last 8 digits of your serial number.

Step 2 – Configuring the Wi-Fi Network

  1. Cut the power to the station for 30 seconds.

  2. Restore power to the station and wait for 1 minute.

  3. Go to your phone's Wi-Fi settings and look for the network:

EVC-xxxxxxxx

Important: this network is only visible for 1 hour. If it is no longer visible, restart at step 1.

  1. Stay close to the station, as the emitted Wi-Fi network is very low-power.

    On an Android device, wait for the prompt asking if you want to stay connected to the station's network even if no Internet access is detected, then agree.

  2. In your browser, access the station configuration page at:

http://192.168.4.1/frame.html

  1. Scroll the page down to the "WiFi" section.

    • Choose your Wi-Fi network.

    • Enter the network password.

Attention: make sure to enter the correct password. After submission, the message "Set Success" may appear even if the password is incorrect.

  1. Scroll the page down and press "Restart the Station".

    After about 1 minute, if the network is correctly configured, the top LED of the station will be solid green, confirming that the station is well connected to the Wi-Fi network.

Step 3 – Configuring the OCPP Link

  1. Reconnect to the Wi-Fi network emitted by the station.

  2. In your browser, access the station configuration page at one of the following addresses:

or, if the station uses the latest version Charger Management Backend V1.9:

http://192.168.4.1

  1. In the OCPP section:

    a. In "OCPP Name", enter the last 8 digits of the serial number, then press "Submit".

    b. In "OCPP URL", enter:

ws://ocpp.sh/

then press "Submit".

  1. Scroll down the page and press “Restart the terminal”.

  2. After about 1 minute, confirm in Drive Electric that the terminal displays the status “Available” or “Ready”.
